How many disasters are in What If Disasters?

The game's official page currently advertises 26 disasters and 18 maps, with four headline scenarios: The Moon Falls, The Sun Disappears, The Ocean Rolls Back and A Mega Tsunami Hits.

If a guide still says 25 disasters and 9 maps, that figure is outdated — it was the roster before it grew to the current totals. The 26 count is the developer's own advertised number rather than a published list of names, so the confirmed scenarios below come from the “What if...?” banner each round shows before its hazard begins: ten have confirmed hazards so far, and another twelve are known from their banners.

Confirmed disasters and what each one does

Each round announces its scenario with a “What if...?” banner (the exact wording can vary slightly). These ten have confirmed hazards:

How each disaster is announced

Mechanic flow

  1. 1

    Lobby countdown

The NEXT DISASTER timer in the lobby counts down to the round.

  2. 2

    Entering simulation

An ENTERING SIMULATION transition loads everyone into the round.

  3. 3

    Map and 30-second head start

You teleport to a named map — Alpine Ski Resort, Thrill Park, Coastal Resort and Suburban Neighborhood among them — with a DISASTER IN 00:30 countdown to get into position.

  4. 4

    The What if...? banner

The round names the exact scenario about to hit.

  5. 5

    The hazard plays out

The disaster unfolds in stages as the round goes on.

  6. 6

    Settlement banner

Back in the lobby, a banner sums up the round, e.g. EARTH ENTERS A MEGA STORM / 4 OF 12 SURVIVED.

The scenario and the map are chosen separately: the same map can host different disasters, and the banner — not the location — tells you what is coming. Maps spotted so far also include Harbor Port, a Golden Gate Bridge-style crossing and the Jungle Pyramids. If you are new to the loop itself, the how to play guide walks through it, and the Thrill Park map guide covers one of the round locations in detail.

One more place a roster may live in game: the lobby has an INDEX button next to SHOP and MISSIONS. Its full contents have not been documented yet — it may be the game's own disaster index, so it is worth a glance while you wait for the next countdown.

Knowing the disaster is only half the round; what you do with the 30-second warning decides the rest. The how to play guide covers that warning and the rest of the round loop, and the updates page keeps track of what changes in the game.
